How to get here
Glencoe Independent Hostel is conveniently located just off the main A82 trunk road, one of the most stunning drives in the country through magnificent Highland scenery and the dramatic “Pass of Glencoe”
Please be aware there is no street lighting between the hostel,Glencoe Village and the Clachaig Inn so if you are planning to walk in the evenings please bring a torch.

Sat Nav – our postcode is PH49 4HX however this covers a wide area and will leave you 1 mile away – best to follow the directions below.
From Crianlarich and the south come through Glencoe on the A82 and take the right hand turn signposted “Glencoe Village”, “The Clachaig Inn” and “Glencoe Independent Hostel”. You will now be on an old singletrack road, continue on this past the Clachaig Inn and for a further mile, on the left.
From FortWilliamand the north take the left hand junction signposted “Kinlochleven and Glencoe”, then take the immediate right into Glencoe Village. Continue past the Nisa shop and over the hump backed bridge across the river for another mile along a single track road, we are on the right.
If you are arriving by public transport why not hire a bike from the village on the way through? Crankitupgear offer attractive half and full day rates plus discounts for longer rentals. If you organise it in advance we may be able to pick the bikes up for you.
The nearest Citylink bus stop is Glencoe Crossroads. The local Kinlochleven bus drops off at Glencoe Junction. From either stop walk into Glencoe Village and past the Nisa shop on your left. If you do not pass the Nisa shops within 5 minutes of walking you are goind the wrong way! You will exit the village over a hump backed bridge across the river and we are a mile further on, on the single track road.

Our closest stations are at Fort William or Bridge of Orchy. For more information on train services visit the Scotrail website. The Caledonian Sleeper is a fantastic way to travel from the south to Bridge of Orchy or Fort William. Prices start from £19pp (look for Bargain Berths and book well in advance) and many people travel toFort William, picking up a hire car there.
